We are a network for Aboriginal people who are involved in Sports, Recreation, Fitness and Traditional Activities. The APACC mission is to create a community of mentors, leaders, participants, and supporters who promote physical activity as a way to health and wellness.

This evaluation collected data from across Australia between June 2010 to June 2013 of adult participation in cycle training programs. Program improvements included cycling skills and confidence and reductions in BMI.

Twenty two articles were included (6 RCTs, 13 quasi-experimental trials and 3 pre-post trials). All but one of these studies was in schools and examined primary/elementary children…. The authors concluded that school and community-based programs that include developmentally appropriate FMS learning experiences delivered by physical education specialists or highly trained classroom teachers significantly improve FMS proficiency in youth.

Results suggest that high fitness levels may counteract the negative consequences attributed to body fat. These findings suggest that increasing physical fitness in overweight children and adolescents may have many positive effects on health, including lower body fat levels.

Exercise programmes designed to prevent falls in older adults also seem to prevent injuries caused by falls, including the most severe ones. Such programmes also reduce the rate of falls leading to medical care.

The authors conclude: To improve patient management both type of therapeutic interventions and dose should be carefully chosen for each individual in order to maintain/increase PA level while decreasing sedentary behavior.
